An international sensation, this hilarious, feel-good novel is narrated by an oddly charming and socially challenged genetics professor on an unusual quest: to find out if he is capable of true love.

Don Tillman, a professor of genetics, has never been on a second date. He is a man who can count all his friends on the fingers of one hand, whose lifelong difficulty with social rituals has convinced him that he is simply not wired for romance. So when an acquaintance informs him that he would make a “wonderful” husband, his first reaction is shocking. Yet he must concede to the statistical probability that there is someone for everyone, and he embarks upon The Wife Project.

I’ve gotten some seriously awkward looks while I was reading this in public cause I was just grinning like an idiot almost the entire time. It was an absolute pleasure to read it. One of the things I LOVE is reading about socially awkward but hilarious characters who just don’t fit in. And Don Tillman is their mayor. He is a wonderfully offbeat narrative character who is bordering on being dysfunctional in life, and whose eccentricities were like an autumn breeze. It might not have been… the perfect plot, but it was very much a character driven book, which more than made up for certain lacks in the plot.
